Anzalone Liszt Research is a public opinion polling firm specializing in questionnaire development and analysis as well as strategic consulting. From start to finish, our commitment as pollsters is to go beyond just providing the numbers. We believe it is important for a pollster to be an active part of the strategic consultant team in each campaign. We like to roll up our sleeves and make sure the strategic recommendations that come out of a poll are also well executed. Two Anzalone Liszt clients have recently won very competitive congressional elections in districts previously held by Republicans. Newly elected Congressmen Don Cazayoux (LA-06) and Travis Childers (MS-01) won districts considered "safe Republican" until just a matter of months ago. Anzalone Liszt is proud to have helped these two talented members and to help show that Democrats can win in almost any district in the country.
Read about the Childers' win in the LA Times.
"The best pollster you've never heard of is expanding his operation to the nation's capital. John Anzalone, of Anzalone Liszt Research, is opening a Washington office to be run by Marc Silverman, a senior associate in the firm. The Democratic survey research firm became among the hottest in the nation after the 2006 cycle in which it conducted polling for Reps. Heath Shuler (N.C.), Ron Klein (Fla.), Paul W. Hodes (N.H.) and Jason Altmire (Pa.) -- all of whom defeated Republican incumbents. "As our Washington-based client list has grown and we have developed a national reputation, opening a D.C. office is a natural next step for our firm," Anzalone said."

Democrats hold a 14 point advantage (49% Democratic / 35% Republican) when voters are asked which party they want to control Congress in a new NBC / Wall Street Journal Poll. This 14 point margin is almost identical to the 15 point margin in October of 2006, indicating that 2008 has the potential to be as strong a year for Democrats as the 2006 elections were.
