Anzalone Liszt Research (ALR) has more than 20 years of experience helping Democrats and progressives around the world win elections and turn their agendas into law. We also specialize in helping corporations burnish their images or strategically position themselves as a brand. We use a broad range of research techniques to help clients build their messages, refine those messages, and find and target their persuadable audiences.

ALR is highly skilled in providing the following services, among others:
 

  • Strategic political campaign research. We are campaign pollsters at heart and poll for campaigns on every level, from Barack Obama for President to small-town mayors to candidates for President and Parliament around the world.  We are full partners in campaigns, giving them strategic advice and using polling to craft their message and targeting strategies. Credible polling can also be a powerful insider-media and fundraising tool, and we regularly stand behind our polling with memos aimed at insiders to help campaigns reach elites. While much of our reputation is built on our success helping Congressmen, Senators, and Presidents win Republican states and districts, we are also adept at negotiating Democratic primaries and helping progressives win non-partisan races for positions like Mayor, County Executive, or Supreme Court Justice.

  • Issue-based polling—ballot initiatives and legislative campaigns. ALR has worked with organizations across the country to help them enact progressive policies, both through the legislature and at the ballot box. We understand that ballot initiatives need a different approach than political campaigns. We’ve also helped craft creative research solutions for legislative campaigns: from focus groups and polling of opinion leaders to brief, targeted issue polls in districts of swing legislators, we know how to use advocacy polling for issue agendas.

  • Branding initiatives. Corporations and non-profit organizations partner with us to maintain and improve their brands through research because we are able to adapt our strategic campaign skills to the world of branding and corporate positioning. We understand that every branding campaign has different audiences and different goals. We work in partnership to help companies and organizations figure out who their existing and potential donors and customers are, and how to retain and increase their membership and customer bases.
