Bio: JOHN ANZALONE has nearly 20 years in the polling business helping candidates, associations and corporations all across the country with message development, strategic planning and targeting.  John has helped build a firm that helped elect Barack Obama as President and now represents two U.S. Senators, eighteen U.S. Congressmen and dozens of other statewide and local elected officials in over twenty states. In 2006, Anzalone Liszt Research beat more incumbent Republicans (five) than any other polling firm in the nation.  He has regularly worked with the DCCC, DSCC and the DGA.The Washington Post recently called the Anzalone Liszt Research one of the “hottest in the nation after the 2006 cycle” and John Anzalone “the best pollster you’ve never heard of”, and Politico named him "one of the five most important people not running for president".  Anzalone is regularly quoted in The Washington Post, Roll Call, Politico, The Los Angeles Times and the national Associated Press.  Anzalone was the pollster for two 2008 special election victories for Democrats in the South, Don Cazayoux (LA-06) and Travis Childers (MS-01).Anzalone started his own polling firm in 1994 and has offices in Washington, DC and Montgomery, AL.  Anzalone was a campaign operative whose experiences include working for national democratic strategists James Carville and Paul Begala in U.S. Senator Frank Lautenberg’s (NJ) 1988 campaign and managing gubernatorial, congressional and mayoral races.  He began his political career as a research assistant to David Wilhelm (who later became DNC Chairman) at Citizens for Tax Justice, and then went on to manage campaigns in five different states, before concentrating his energies on polling for campaigns. John is married and has four children.

Bio: Jeffrey Liszt, a native of Charlottesville, Virginia by way of the University of Chicago, is still trying to figure out how he ended up living in Alabama.  Jeff has over 10 years experience in polling.  He joined Anzalone Research in 1999, and became a partner in 2001. Jeff represents incumbent U.S. Congressmen in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and has worked with the DGA and DCCC.  He has extensive experience with state legislative races, helping Democrats recapture Senate chambers in New Jersey and Illinois, and expand their majority in North Carolina.  He also represents municipal clients from Denver to Philadelphia. Jeff has conducted focus groups for gubernatorial, congressional, municipal, corporate, and non-profit clients. He lives in Montgomery, Alabama with his wife and mandolin.

Bio: Matt Hogan serves as Vice President at Anzalone Liszt Research. Matt is responsible for developing questionnaires, analyzing poll results, and for providing strategic direction to clients. Prior to joining Anzalone Liszt Research, Matt was a Senior Analyst at the political polling firm of Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research and worked with Stan Greenberg and James Carville as an analyst at Democracy Corps, a non-profit that provides research and strategic advice to progressive organizations. Most recently, he worked on the Obama campaign, coordinating polling and media for the Midwestern region. Matt holds a masters degree in public policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and a B.A. in History from James Madison University.

Bio: Zac is involved in questionnaire development, polling analysis and presentations, and client communication and support.  He joined Anzalone Liszt Research after serving as the Communications Director for the Alabama Democratic Party during the 2006 election cycle.  A former contributor to Campaigns and Elections magazine, Zac has also appeared on statewide and broadcast television as a commentator on state and national politics. He holds a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of Alabama and sits on the Board of Directors of Conservation Alabama.  He is married to the former Barbara Hattemer and lives in Prattville with his dog Fritz.

Bio: Judy Lucas Harris serves Anzalone Liszt Research in the position of Office Administrator.  She oversees all business and administrative operation pertaining to Anzalone Liszt Research; including accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor relations, contract management, scheduling and human resources.  Judy previously worked for Summit Asset Management, LLC and continues to serve in an advisory position with The Firm / Langston Langston Lucas Brown located in Montgomery, Alabama.  Judy lives in Montgomery with her husband, Dale. Judy has three daughters, two stepsons and two grandchildren.

Bio:   Carlie Alexander is the Project Director at Anzalone Liszt Research.  She tracks the status of multiple polling projects from their inception to their completion, ensuring that they are completed in a timely manner.  Prior to joining Anzalone Liszt Research, she was the state Alzheimer's Project Coordinator at the Alabama Department of Senior Services.  She holds a Master of Public Administration from Auburn University Montgomery and graduated summa cum laude from Faulkner University in 2003 with a B.A. in English.

Bio: Jennifer Steverson is a Project Coordinator at Anzalone Liszt Research.  In this capacity, Jennifer works to ensure that all projects are conducted in a quality and efficient manner.  She comes to Anzalone Liszt after serving as Resource Center Director for Building Our Neighborhoods for Development and Success, a non-profit neighborhood-strengthening program, in Montgomery.  Jennifer is involved with EMERGE– Montgomery’s young professional organization where she serves on the Marketing, Public Affairs and Community Outreach committees. In addition, Jennifer is secretary of both the River Region Democrats and the Elmore County Democratic Executive Committee. As a representative of the River Region Democrats, Jennifer has been selected to serve on the Mayor’s Young Professional Council. Jennifer currently attends Troy University and has worked on several political campaigns throughout the area. She is a member of the Torchbearers Leadership Class I, a program of Leadership Montgomery.

Bio: Jeffrey Ioimo is a Research Analyst at Anzalone Liszt Research. He is responsible for client research and aiding in the development of analytical reports. Jeffrey is a graduate of Auburn University where he obtained his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. During his years at Auburn, Jeffrey served as the Auburn College Democrats’ President, and the Alabama State Federation of College Democrats’ Membership Director. Jeffrey now serves as the Chairman of the Elmore County Democratic Executive Committee, and is currently obtaining his Master of Public Administration from Auburn University at Montgomery. Jeffrey has worked on several campaigns in Auburn, Alabama and around the State of Alabama.
